Dead End River formed in 2007 when the brothers, guitarists Shawn and Beau Tucker, met vocalist Jason Permenter. Hoping to add some additional guitars to his then-band Novocult, Jason had Shawn and Beau out to Novocult’s St. Petersburg, FL practice space for several jam sessions. The chemistry between the three was undeniable and Novocult’s potential seemed limitless. However, as so often happens, Novocult shriveled and died without ever living up to its promise. Not wanting to abandon the musical interplay that Jason, Shawn and Beau had explored, the three relocated their operation to Brandon, FL. Over the course of the next year, the newly formed Dead End River began to hone its sound and develop original music. After a series of line-up changes, bassist Mark Terry joined the band at the end of 2008. Shortly thereafter, Dead End River finalized its roster with the addition of drummer Sean Lau. Having filled out its line-up, Dead End River has begun to explore and experiment, continually evolving and creating a progressive, meaningful musical identity. With inspiration flowing from such sources as Tool, Alice In Chains and Deftones to Pink Floyd, Blind Melon and the Doors, Dead End River always seeks to reach beyond the stars and into unknown territory
